YC’s football team finished 5-4 for the 2018 season. They also finished with a winning record for the first time since 2007.

The Tigers were set to make play-offs for the first time in over a decade, when they got the unfortunate news that they did not make it because they were outranked.

On October 31st, OSAA had come to the realization that they had made a calculation error, and that YC was supposed to go to play-offs. The following day OSAA came out to YCHS to meet with principal Cindy Schubert, vice principal Matt Wiles, and coach Brennon Mossholder to explain their error.

OSAA determined it was too late for the Tigers to participate in their play-off game because they did not have enough time to prepare.

Coaches Mossholder and Bradley Post are really proud of the team’s determination and growth throughout the crazy season. Mossholder was particularly proud of how the younger player stepped up during the game against Blanchet.

Post, a first-time coach at YC, had some sweet things to say about his experience, “Coaching at YC this year was one of my favorite and most memorable years in coaching. The coaching staff is great and the kids are even better.”

Senior Decker Richmond had a lot of good things to say about his last season. He said, “It was the best season I have ever been a part of at YC. Out of all the sports and all the seasons that was hands down the best.”

Despite OSAA’s mistake this season, Mossholder is excited and ready for whatever next season brings.
