Yamhill-Carlton high schools volleyball is 6-6 in the league right now, OSAA has them ranked at 18th in the state for 3A schools.

Quinn Takashima is the YCHS volleyball coach accompanied by the assistant coach Richard Aki who is also the Junior Varsity coach.There are 12 girls playing on varsity and 11 on the JV team. 

Junior Kierra Knap is a defensive specialist and also the libero for the Varsity Team. She is very confident about how the team is doing thus far into the season. 

Knapp said, “I think the team is doing very well, we have been really good at coming together and staying positive and it has been an amazing environment.”

The girls on the team have really pulled together this season have shown a lot of team spirit.

Knapp said, “I think it’s hard for me to just narrow it down to one MVP because all of my teammates have been my MVPs and really keep me going and are always pushing to make me better including my coach, so I think my MVP is my team because we go through everything together.”

Junior Kassidy Ashby is an all-around player but she loves to hit outside and back for the JV team. Ashby is excited and confident in her teammates. 

Ashby said, “The team is really close with each other and we are doing pretty good overall… We have SO many great players but our MVP probably has to be Kaylee or Jada.”
