Bald Peak is located at the top of of the highest point in the Chehalem Mountain range. When at the viewpoint you’re able to see multiple vineyards and other fields. On clears days you’re also able to see four mountains: Mt. Hood, Mt. Adams, Mt. St. Helens, and Mt. Reinier.

Popular times to go are around sunrise and/or sunset, as it is breathtaking to see the expansive woodlands in the growing/fading light.

There are also several hiking trails with different difficulties. The difficulty of a trail depends on length and up keep. Fortunately however, this allows for everyone to get the experience they want. Additionally it is dog friendly, so bring your dog.

My experience at Bald Peak was very enjoyable. I went up there not really knowing what I wanted to do so I just explored. I constantly stopped and looked out over the landscape just taking everything in. The trails were easy enough but some did have overgrowth and/or tree fall. I would recommend planning at least a picnic or activity. If not you’ll most likely be spending around 20-30 minutes there.
