The student store and student lounge just got a huge makeover. The new Tiger Den can be found on the main floor near to Mr. Bassinger’s room. 

The Tiger Den got brand new furniture and students put it all together.

“I just want to see more people using the room,” said Graduation Coach Renee McKinney.

However, an estimated 75 people have gone into the Tiger Den as of September 30th.

“It’s been fun. I like watching the students talk to other kids, but it’s been a little stressful at times,” said McKinney.

Some of the things the student store sells are:

• Iced drinks
• Popcorn
• Tiger merchandise
• Gum 
• Small snacks

Every week is another grade dollar off week, where students from that grade can buy drinks at the Tiger Den for a dollar off. Last week it was the sophomores turn to have one dollar off drinks.

“We just moved into this room when  school started but the kids last year decided how everything would look and how it’d be set up,” said Mrs. McKinney

The room was completely empty and there were no plans to do anything with it until it became the new student store.

“It’s definitely been a slow and steady process, especially with the new student lounge. There was a lot of kind of confusion at the beginning, but I think it’s clear to people now where the student store is and what we sell, and it’s like a second lunch,” said Senior Jaxen Gallagher, who volunteers at the student store.

The student store is open 1st, 2nd and 4th period and lunch.
