Do you like magic? Adventure? Gargoyles? The Amulet of Samarkand written by Jonathan Shroud has not only that but more. In this magic filled adventure we follow two characters, Bartimaeus who is summoned from the spirit world to discover Simon Lovelance’s evil agenda and to steal the Amulet, and Nathaniel who summons Bartimaeus to receive the sweet fruit of revenge. Over the course of the tale it is just one obstacle after another, both characters hating each other less and less, until eventually they rely on each other in the strangest way. With this book not just being amazing in my opinion, The Amulet of Samarkand is also a B.O.B. (Battle of the Books) book so if you have a B.O.B. team or not pick up the book and get a couple chapters in. I guarantee you you will get interested in the first chapter, even though some chapters are slower than others. With the exceptions of the less exciting parts, The Amulet of Samarkand is great for anyone who can read complex sentences. So again pick it up, I have no doubt you will enjoy it.
